Description: Mostly sport and toprope with some traditional climbing area located on private land.  Layered sandstone and some limestone create horizonals, pockets and huecos for the majority of the holds.
Location: Approximately three hours west of Washington, D.C. and 30 minutes southeast of Seneca Rocks, WV.
Directions:

From D.C. get on 66 west towards Front Royal, VA.  Head south on Rt. 81 briefly and then west on Rt. 55.   Continue on 55, winding through the mountains, following signs for 55 west at the small towns until you reach the town of Seneca Rocks.  Veer left onto Rt. 33/28 south at Seneca Rocks.  Follow 33/28 for 11 miles south, cross the river and make left-hand turn onto 33 east towards Virginia.  Stay on 33 until reach the town of Franklin.   At first light (near the gas stations) make a left turn and continue on 33 east.   After crossing a small bridge with concrete rails running along side, make a left onto the gravel road (a small backwoods convenient store will be up and to your right).   Continue down the winding gravel road, across the small bridge and down along the river until you see the parking area on your right.  Park before the gated two-track road that leads back up the hill.  You should basically be staring at the Roadside Crag.  Follow the trail up and to your right for the majority of the climbing.   Total approach time - 15 minutes.
